The last I remember hearing about Dead Island 2 was that the central idea would be that it lacked a main storyline, and would be more of a “roaming” game where you find work and missions as you go, rather than have it be structured. The game was a no-show at E3, and this certainly explains why. It’s unclear what the “respective visions” were that “fell out of alignment,” but it’s a big blow to Dead Island 2, which now has to hunt for a new developer.
